Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Independent Contractor with expertise in Oral Surgery, Orofacial Pain, Dental Sleep, and Medicare billing. As a valued member of our team, you will utilize your proficiency in medical billing software and your own computer meeting our IT standards to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of medical insurance billing experience, demonstrating competence in claim submission, insurance payment posting, contractual adjustment posting, and appeals processing.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who excel in time management. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting our clients by diligently collecting outstanding medical claims and providing comprehensive follow-up.

Qualifications

Previous experience in medical billing, with a strong understanding of dental billing and medical procedures.

Proficiency in AdvancedMD software is required.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for accurate claim tracking.

Ability to analyze denials and ensure the accuracy of explanation of benefits (EOBs) or assist in resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Review and submit clean claims with appropriate modifiers to insurance companies electronically or via 1500 form.

Verify insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with provider contracts and patient benefits.

Conduct collection activities, including communication with insurance companies via phone and online platforms.

Utilize accounts receivable (A/R) reporting to review and appeal unpaid and denied claims.

Scrutinize all denials to confirm the accuracy of EOBs or assist in resolving issues.

As an Independent Contractor, you will utilize your own computer that meets our IT standards.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of dedicated billing experience, preferably with Health Fusion or AdvancedMD.

Access to a dedicated workspace, reliable computer, printer, and high-speed internet.

Profound understanding of EOBs and adeptness in accurately posting payments and adjustments.

Self-directed with the ability to set and achieve goals independently.

Highly disciplined and detail-oriented with the capacity to efficiently review account ledgers and payment documents.
